The SMC Chicago East Club is launching a Mentoring Program for its alumnae to have the opportunity to network, mentor, and be supported by fellow Saint Mary’s College alumnae in the Chicagoland area.  It is our hope these mentoring partnerships will build new friendships, develop personal/professional insights, and lead to lasting connections within our alumnae network.  We ask our alumnae to consider participating in an effort to draw on their considerable talents and accomplishments for the benefit of women who seek mentorship.  We further encourage recent graduates locating to the Chicagoland area to consider mentorship as a means to offer the guidance and strength they desire in their lives and careers.  Please direct inquires to Gwen Duffield,, or Lindsey Mackenzie,

2010 Founders' Day Wrap-up

Over 100 alumnae, family, and friends gathered at this year's Founders' Day on November 7, 2010.  Mass was held at Saint Vincent DePaul Church in Lincoln Park, followed by a luncheon at Cafe Ba-Ba-Reeba.

After lunch, Dr. Gail Porter Mandell, Professor and Schlesinger Chair in Humanistic Studies Emerita at Saint Mary's, gave an enthusiastic and inspiring speech about the impact and legacy of Sister Madeleva Wolff, the College's third president.

The scholarship raffle, silent auction, and a portion of the ticket price raised approximately $5,000 for the Chicago Endowed Scholarship.

The success of the event is attributed to all the wonderful sponsors.  Special thanks to all that attended the event and supported the scholarship raffle and silent auction.
