Christmas Celebration!!
Join the Saint Mary's College Detroit Alumnae Club for our Christmas Celebration!!
We will plan on meeting at St. Thomas More Church in Troy for 10:30am Mass. From there we will head over to the Heathers in Bloomfield Hills around 12pm for a Christmas Brunch. Price is $35 which covers Mimosas, non-alcoholic beverages and food. Payment will be accepted at the Heathers. Come for half or come for all, we would love to see you for any length of time!
We will also be collecting new coats, hats, scarves, and gloves/mittens for the Capuchin Soup Kitchen as we did last year. At our 2009 Christmas Party we collected over 30 coats for CSK! If you are interested in buying winter gear please contact Lisa at 810-287-4832 or smcdac@gmail.com before you buy, CSK gave us specific gender and size cards this year and we want to make sure every child is accounted for!

Christmas in July- Date TBA
We are planning on having a volunteer event in the
near future with the Capuchin Soup Kitchen.It is our chance as Saint Mary's women to give
back to our community!
August 4, 2009-Freshman Sendoff
It is the club's tradition to host a send off for the
incoming Detroit area students. This is our chance to give them tons of advice
and let them know why Saint Mary's is the best choice! Sendoff will take
place at the home of Suzanne Burzynski.

September 19, 2009- SMC Tailgate
We will be hosting a tailgate at Saint Mary's this year before the MSU game. The College is also hosting an Alumnae reception that day at the
Clubhouse. It's the perfect time to meet up with Alumnae from our area
as well as those who don't live quite as close! We are also thinking of
hosting a tailgate in Ann Arbor for the September 12th game against Michigan!

October 11, 2009- Founder's Day Celebration
Joan Reddy is busy planning this upcoming event. We plan to attend Mass together at an
area church and then have brunch in celebration of the Feast Day of Father Sorin
and our Alma Mater's Founding! Where would we be without Saint Mary's?
November 2009- Finals Care Package
Assembly. What better way to let our students know we are thinking of them than to send
them care packages? For our Fall meeting we will gather to assemble care packages for our
students and send them during finals week!
December 2009- Christmas Party!
We are not missing out on this again! We are currently looking for a host. We plan to keep the
traditional weekend the same as always, the first weekend of December. Please let me

In the spirit of the Club's renewed commitment

Members will have the standard rate of $25 for

Scholarship Fund
The Scholarship Fund continues to grow and
we will be able to award a scholarship to a
Detroit student this fall! We recently had a
large donation made to the fund from the
Community Foundation of Southeast Michigan
from the Leo E and Ann June Mainville Fund.

The Saint Mary's College Detroit Alumnae Club is back in action! We recently held our first event to kick off the seasn! To reunite, revitalize and renew the spirit of the Belles in the Detroit area, several alumnae and their spouses gathered for a night of bocce ball. The slate of upcoming events is full--we hope to see you soon!
